It took IOHK, the firm behind development in the Cardano ecosystem, relatively 2 years of rigorous efforts to finally deliver Shelley.
As soon as the Shelley hard fork was realized as scheduled, the network started recording tons of stakepool registrations, which indicates the anticipation and readiness of Cardano community members.
The project was heavily criticized before the realization of Shelley, and critics are still mounting their efforts to play down the hard work, forgetting that Ethereum and its developers have struggled over the years to clinch similar milestone, with no assurance of upgrading its network to Proof of Stake (PoS) in 2020.
Cardano Now Has Hundreds of Stakepools and Half the Network Delegated
According to Charles Hoskinson in one of his recent tweets, Cardano now has hundreds of stakepools running on its network, with half the network delegated.
In the tweet, Hoskinson recalled a few months ago when the critics were saying that Cardano (ADA) is nothing other than a wallet without use cases. He then wondered if there are projects at Cardano’s level at the moment.
Charles Hoskinson tweeted, “You know a few months ago our critics were saying we are just a wallet with nothing to show, now we have hundreds of stakepools running and half the network delegated with daily convos about k, d, a0, guilds and portfolios. What other project has this level of dialog and smarts?”

In another development, Charles Hoskinson hinted at the plan to expand in terms of marketing. He said some able hands will be hired to make this happen.
“We are stepping up marketing. I’m making some hires and more things to come,” Hoskinson tweeted.
According to the CEO, Cardano is an open platform that seeks to provide economic identity to the billions who lack it by providing decentralized applications to manage identity, value, and governance. This indicates that Cardano (ADA) still has a long way to go.
Cardano (ADA) Is Now Spendable On Amazon, Nike, Airbnb, 1200+ Others
Another huge development in the Cardano ecosystem is the partnership with Bidali, a Canadian payment processor that offers next-generation of cryptocurrency payment solutions.
The significance of this partnership is that the liquidity of the digital token ADA will be enhanced, due to the exposure to a wider range of users across the world.
ADA holders will be able to buy items directly from over 1200 major retail brands, such as Amazon, Nike, Starbucks, Airbnb, among others, through Bidali’s online gift card platform.
