Aretaeio Hospital to Store COVID-19 Vaccination Records on VeChain

According to a report tweeted a couple of hours via the official Twitter handle of VeChain Foundation, Aretaeio Hospital is launching the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate Platform.

What is exciting about the development is that the COVID-19 vaccination records of the hospital will be stored on the VeChain public blockchain.

VeChain Foundation tweeted “Following Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, Aretaeio Hospital is rolling out the Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate Platform! Within weeks, COVID-19 vaccination records will be hashed on the VeChain public blockchain.”

Aretaeio Hospital’s Effort to Mitigate COVID-19

Aretaeio Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in Cyprus. And it’s worthy of note that the hospital is known as a pioneer in the healthcare industry, not only for Cyprus but for the whole of Europe.

Although the hospital is arguably the oldest in the country, it’s currently ready and taking important steps to invest in the era of digital transformation.

Replicating the effort of hospitals such as the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus that offers patients direct and secure access to their laboratory tests via mobile devices, it incorporates the digital vaccination certificate for Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19, whereby VeChain will be fully functional.

According to the report, a considerable number of doctors and staff of the hospital have received the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccination for COVID-19, followed by the receipt of digital vaccination certificate on their mobile devices via the E-HCert mobile application.

The report also added that later this month, the app will be made available for people to receive their laboratory results certificates digitally. Conclusively, the mobile app uses VeChain public blockchain security technology.
