Vitalik Buterin Denies the Fork of Ethereum Network; Addresses What Caused Infura Service Outage

The co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), Vitalik Buterin, has recently shared an update regarding the scaling of the underway Ethereum network upgrade.

Vitalik shared this a few hours ago in one of his recent tweets. In the update, he stated that ETH 2.0 scaling will be available before Ethereum 2.0 scaling for general computation.

He pointed out that rollups will be the dominant scaling model in the upcoming network upgrade for a couple of years. He also specified that phase 1 of Ethereum 2.0 will be capable of relatively 100 thousand transactions per second.

“ETH2 scaling for data will be available *before* ETH2 scaling for general computation. This implies that rollups will be the dominant scaling paradigm for at least a couple of years: first ~2-3k TPS with eth1 as data layer, then ~100k TPS with eth2 (phase 1). Adjust accordingly.”

Reacting to Vitalik Buterin’s thought, Daniel Larimer, a popular cryptocurrency entrepreneur, and software engineer asked, “How many sequentially dependent transactions per second?”

The co-creator of Ethereum (ETH) responded as follows:

“Actually rollups could potentially go up into the thousands or more on that dimension too. Strangely enough, shards don’t need to talk to each other synchronously to be able to have a synchronous rollup that combines the shards’ scalability.”

New Ethereum 2.0 Testnet Starts Rolling Out with Four Different Clients

The new Ethereum (ETH) 2.0 testnet named Altona has reportedly started rolling out with four different clients. The clients involved are Sigma Prime, Prysmatic Labs, Nimbus, and PegaSys.

According to Bitfly, if things work as planned, only one official public testnet will be left for release before the launch of Ethereum 2.0.

“The new Ethereum 2.0 Testnet ‘Altona’ started rolling with four different clients this time. If everything works as expected, there will only be one more official public Testnet before mainnet launch,” Bitfly reported.
