UNICEF Innovation, an interdisciplinary team tasked with identifying, prototyping, and scaling technologies and practices that strengthen UNICEF’s work for children, has announced the inclusion of Leaf Global Fintech, a digital wallet built on Stellar blockchain, in its first cohort of blockchain investments building solutions toward financial inclusion.
This new development was shared with the community by Stellar Development Foundation in response to the announcement originally posted on the official Twitter handle of UNICEF Innovation.

According to the announcement, the seven companies, including Stellar-based Leaf Global Fintech, will be part of UNICEF’s blockchain-based solution targeted at expanding financial inclusion.
UNICEF Innovation tweeted, “UNICEF welcomes 7 companies developing open-source blockchain-based solutions that aim to expand financial inclusion, including cross-border transfers, community currency, access to saving & lending services, and more.”
In response to the announcement, Stellar Development Foundation congratulated the Leaf team for securing such a significant collaboration.
