In celebration of #DogeDay, Newegg, a tech-focused retail giant based in North America, has announced the addition of the trending meme token, Dogecoin (DOGE), as a payment option on its platform.

Despite criticisms, Dogecoin (DOGE) continues to gain vast popularity and adoption across the world, due to the meteoric price upsurge it currently experiences.

The one particular factor that has been aiding Dogecoin’s rise into prominence is Elon Musk and his common tweets targeted at touting the cryptocurrency created out of a meme.

The billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, Mark Cuban, has also become a stern supporter of the Dogecoin (DOGE), which resulted in accepting the digital token from Mavs buyers.

However, many still term the current trend as pump and dump, but Dogecoin (DOGE) is still rising and it’s currently the 4th largest digital currency by market capitalization.
