Ripple’s digital token XRP has got a new means for expansion in the world of payment with the new support it recently received on BitPay, one of the leaders in blockchain payment technology.

According to the trending update, BitPay’s users holding the digital token XRP will be able to buy gift cards starting from next week on the platform.

The report was hinted via Twitter a couple of hours ago by a famous crypto enthusiast, Tiffany Hayden, which was later confirmed by the Co-founder at BitPay, Tony Gallippi after retweeting the post.

Tiffany Hayden wrote thus, “Run! XRP added to BitPay! Starting next week, gift cards can be purchased with XRP –even for Amazon! Download the app, get comfy, hit up your favorite retailers to start accepting XRP! Thank you, TonyGallippi!”

Gift cards enable cryptocurrency holders to easily spend their digital currencies at major retailers and restaurants, which include Amazon, Burger King, and others.

Sean Rolland, the BitPay direct of products referenced the outstanding utilities embedded in the digital token XRP, such as the transaction speed, low transaction cost, and scalability, making it outstanding.

He said “BitPay customers are leveraging the promise of blockchain payment technology and with XRP can offer a payment option that is fast, cost-effective and scalable. The addition of XRP as the next blockchain asset supported by BitPay expands blockchain choices across the payments space.”

According to BitPay, its crypto payment services exist in over 200 countries across the globe. Howbeit, the gift card service it renders is still limited to the United States residents.

BitPay is a payment company that offers companies and people easy access to accepting payments using cryptocurrency.

It also serves them by helping to store their crypto assets. Its recent confirmed support for XRP on its platform is seen as a welcoming development within the XRP community. Expectedly, it will enhance the reach and liquidity of the digital token. It will also expose its embedded utilities to the world.
