Cardano (ADA) community members are already anticipating the final release of Shelley after the OBFT hard fork was successfully conducted on 20th February 2020.

The CEO of IOHK Charles Hoskinson had to make an impromptu update about Shelley release after a Cardano community member in anticipation of the release reminded Charles about what he said during a podcast conducted sometimes in early February.

The user said Charles mentioned in the podcast that Shelley will be launched by the end of February. The user pointed out that nothing has been said about it recently.

He shared, “Hello Charles, during your podcast around a month ago you mentioned “end of February” shelly launch announcement? Haven’t heard anything about it recently. Kind regards.”

Charles Hoskinson Responded; But not With a Specific Date

Charles Hoskinson had no choice other than responding to the anticipating community member’s observation.

In his response to the tweet, the IOHK CEO said two important releases are expected. He said the release of Byron reboot and Shelley Haskell testnet should be expected in five weeks’ time.

“We have an internal band that we are very comfortable with and I’m waiting to see two milestones to confirm. The release of the Byron reboot and the Shelley Haskell testnet. Both should happen within the next 5 weeks or so,” Charles Hoskinson shared.

About two hours later, the CEO of IOHK took it upon himself to make a relatively 7 minutes video about the work his internal band is putting up to make the expected release a reality.

In the video, Charles said he intentionally didn’t mention a specific date for the release in order not to raise the expectation of the people.
