That blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are making inroads into the mainstream is no lie. Central European nation Slovenia is set to become the first nation to release a series of digital collectibles. According to reports, Slovenia will be releasing its NFT series at the Dubai Expo Event slated for the 1st of next month.
Slovenia’s efforts to release digital collectibles align with its plans to showcase its achievements in the business and tourism sectors. Per details on the development, the proposed NFTs will comprise a series of unique digital 3D exhibits and exclusive 360-degree panoramic high definition photographs. They will be distributed as gifts to visitors or tourists who visit the Slovenian Expo pavilion at the Dubai exposition.
Each NFT to Be Claimed Via Unique Numbers
However, each of the gifts will be in the form of promotional card bearing guidelines alongside a set of unique numbers that will enable the beneficiaries to access the tokens.
Slovenian state secretary Simon Zajc also acknowledged that the nation will be presented as a hub for innovation and smart technologies at the EXPO Event. Plus those who visit its pavilion will get a chance to witness animated content, business opportunities and the proposed NFTs. The series is the result of the partnership among relevant ministries in the government and private bodies in the Central European nation.
Lately, many countries are catching onto the trend of blockchain and crypto-based innovations as they realize the golden potentials hidden in them. Of particular interest is El Salvador’s decision to officially recognize and make Bitcoin a legal tender. Although toeing a different path, Slovenia will become the first nation in the world to officially release an NFT series.
Slovenia to Preserve National Identity with NFTs
Beyond this, the move by Slovenia will help it digitally protect its national artworks that not only detail the nation’s significant progress in both business and tourism but represent the nation’s identity to the global community. Annually, Slovenia generates millions of Euros from tourists who visit the nation because of its beautiful mountains, ski resorts and lakes. Slovenia’s capital city Ljubljana is also one of the top destinations for tourists since its parades a myriad of modern architecture, museums and outdoor riverside cafés.
Slovenia intends to promote its uniqueness to the global community with the help of the NFT series. Blockchain technology is hailed for its numerous utility and borderless nature. Apart from being employed to facilitate the issuance of national CBDCs, some countries have considered using the technology for cross-border payments. Back in July, Singapore and France rolled out a pilot program for cross-border transactions using blockchain.
