A group of NFT fanatics called UpDAO has placed a $1.2M bid on Winning Key NFT from Yuga Labs’ Dookey Dash game. The current NFT owner Kyle Jackson popularly known as Mongraal is yet to accept the offer. Mongraal is asking for 2,222 ETH or $3.6 million to sell the NFT.
UpDAO is linked to an upcoming Web3 game dubbed Inhabitants Universe that Pixel Vault is developing. The DAO bid 695 Wrapped Ethereum on the Winning Key NFT. That’s roughly 6% of the total assets available in its community treasury.
Mongraal has less than 48 hours to accept or ignore the offer. Efforts to reach out for his comment on whether he is considering to accept the bid have yet to bear fruits.
Listsky Explains UpDAO Plans for Winning Key NFT Following Criticism
UpDAO has received criticism, with many claiming that the bid is a waste of money. In response to the critics, Pixel Vault’s Director of Communications, David Listsky, wrote on his Twitter account that the community had plans for the Winning Key NFT should the owner accept the bid.
Listsky explained that Pixel Vault is developing a decentralized gaming protocol for anyone to build on. According to him, there is a possibility that the community would vote to put up the NFT as a tournament prize for games developed on the protocol, which would help spread more awareness.
The Winning Key NFT is part of the Sewer Pass collection released by Yuga Labs. The creator is yet to reveal the utility of these NFTs, but many speculate that each piece will unlock an in-game robotic suit in Yuga Labs’ upcoming metaverse game, Otherside.
Meanwhile, the original version Dookey Dash game is not playable anymore. However, several Sewer Pass holders hired boosters to play on their accounts during its run, hoping to get a higher score. The game was also marred by cheating, which the creator publicly condemned.
Sewer Pass Holders Continue to Hire Boosters in Yuga Labs New Game
Holders of Sewer Pass NFTs are now playing the ‘Toad’ game, and it appears like boosting is not going away anytime soon. Even Mongraal has taken to Twitter to advertise that he is available to play for other users in this new game to help them achieve high scores.
Recent transfers to his wallet suggest that the Winning Key NFT holder may be charging 2.7 ETH for boosts. Other boosters are charging 0.6 ETH to 2.3 ETH for a boost in the Toad game.
