Toonstar Studio has released a new animated series, called the Gimmicks in partnership with Mila Kunis’ Sixth Wall and is powered by Solana NFTs.

NFT Growth

With the growing popularity and adoption of NFTs, many popular figures and companies have started to take serious interest in the potential of what digital art technology can bring. Not only can NFTs boost the potential of virtual media an art, but it can also bring together a community of impressive individuals who can steer projects into unique directions.

The Gimmicks

Recently released animated series, the Gimmicks is one that takes this concept of community build up to a completely new level, like what the series named, Stoner Cats brought. Produced by Toonstar, a Web3 Studio and Sixth Wall which is currently owned by popular American actress, Mila Kunis, this animated series brings Solana NFTs into the game, allowing viewers to mold the storyline and personalities of various characters according to their own liking.

Origin of the Project

The Gimmicks is basically a story about defeated Wrestlers who are looking for a chance to shine bright like a star in the world of entertainment. CEO of Toonstar, John Attanaslo stated in an interview that the series basically reflects upon the idea of South Park fused with WWE. This new animated series is basically the result of some professional wrestlers being let off by the WWE during the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

John Attanaslo said that the professional wrestlers contacted them about doing a collaboration for their social media and for them to portray their stories and maintain their level of creativeness they can bring. Since then, the production of the series took off and now has voice actors from many different wrestlers.

Solana NFTs Usage

Taking about the involvement of NFTs and community build up, Both Toonstar and Sixth Wall will be releasing around 10,000 NFTs, with each NFT representing a different character that will help to mold the story. The public mint will begin on the 18th of March and will be completely free, apart from Solana network transaction fee which is already low.

With the end of every episode, NFT holders will have to basically vote on the different story paths that the next episode will present, steering the story towards their own interests.

As for Mila Kunis, she stated that getting into NFTs is an issue for some people, but with the combined power of “ideas” of Toonstar, “lower transaction fee” and reduced “environmental impact”, it will make it much easier to get in.
