IOTA Foundation Has recently announced that the seed migration tool is now available and all Trinity users that used their wallets between 17th December 2019 and 17th February 2020 must migrate their tokens in the next 7 days.
The Foundation made this known moments ago via its official Twitter handle.
As a matter of urgency, the Foundation implored all Trinity Wallet users that fell within this time frame to do the needful before the stipulated time frame elapses. After the 7 days ultimatum, the coordinator will be turned back on
“The Seed Migration Tool is now available. If you used Trinity Dec 17th, 2019 – Feb 17th, 2020, please make sure you migrate your tokens in the next 7 days (from Feb 29th) before we turn the coordinator back on. What Happens if a User Fails to Migrate?
It is strongly recommended for every Trinity user to migrate using the provided tool in the next seven days as earlier stipulated.
However, manual migration is still possible if any user failed to adhere, but the option is risky. According to the report, once the coordinator is reenabled, manual migration could make the tokens associated with such a user’s seed vulnerable for theft.
