David Schwartz of Ripple recently reacted to Elon Musk’s Twitter post, in which the Tesla CEO expressed his concern over Starlink’s regulation issues in other nations. On Twitter, David Schwartz, Ripple’s chief technical officer, commented on Elon Musk’s previous remark, saying, “I wish I could follow Elon’s attitude to regulations.”
Starlink Provider in Afghan
After the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, thousands of Afghans and at least 100 Americans were trapped. The State Department has pledged to assist people who desire to leave the nation in their endeavors. However, connecting with individuals on the ground to arrange any rescue efforts might be a challenge. According to Breaking Defense, the Taliban has begun destroying masts and other cellular technologies. The SpaceX Starlink satellites, on the other hand, may be a viable option.
Lyla Kohistany, a retired navy security analyst, stated, “I pray Elon Musk would cover the sky in Afghanistan with Starlink servers.” A radio connection with its Afghan counterparts could be maintained, as a result of this technology.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk needs a country bordering Afghanistan where he can build a Starlink transmission plant that will help the United States in its war against al-Qaeda. Because of this, Manley produced an image depicting the countries that are near Afghanistan, showing that it would be difficult to find a transmission site.
Elon Musk indicated that SpaceX’s Starlink servers may provide Afghans with an internet connection, as the United States promises to pull the last Americans and allies out of Afghanistan. “Our servers that will deploy in the next several months feature cross-satellite optical connections, so there is no local transmission site required,” says Elon Musk. “In 4 to 6 months, it should be functional. Getting Starlink Internet service in Afghanistan is a breeze!”
Musk on Taliban Regulations
There is no need for ground-based stations since the Starlink constellations will be equipped with optical links between them when they are deployed in 4 to 6 months, Musk adds. In response to a CNBC space journalist’s question on how that technique works from a regulatory compliance viewpoint, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reacted by tweeting that he doesn’t care. He said that they can clinch their fist towards the heavens
Remarks from Ripple’s CTO
According to David Schwartz, Ripple’s chief technical officer, the company’s regulatory compliance is tough. “I wish I could take Elon’s stance on regulatory requirements,” he said on Twitter.
There is a legal battle between Ripple Labs and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that began in December 2020 and has been ongoing ever since.
