Shopify merchants wanting to sell Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) no longer need to direct their customers to marketplaces like Magic Eden or OpenSea. Instead, the e-commerce firm has partnered with a blockchain startup, Venly, to enable merchants to mint and sell NFTs through their current online stores.

Venly revealed that it would add Avalanche support to its Shopify NFT minting app yesterday, as many consider Avalanche a cheaper and faster alternative to Ethereum. Additionally, before Thursday, the minting app was only available to select Shopify merchants; however, it’s now accessible to everyone.

Shopify is among the world’s largest e-commerce platforms that offer online stores for millions of sellers globally. Tobi Lutke, the firm’s CEO, is a vocal Web3 advocate. Currently, Lutke also serves as one of the directors at Coinbase, a crypto exchange.

Founded in 2018, Venly is a blockchain firm offering blockchain wallet solutions. It is one of the many blockchain apps that have partnered with Shopify. Previously, other partners provided tools for Shopify merchants to mint NFTs on blockchain networks like Flow and Ethereum.

How to buy Avalanche NFT Through Venly App

According to Venly, an existing Avalanche wallet is optional for interested buyers when buying the NFTs. Also, they don’t have to own any crypto. Instead, the buyer can purchase the NFTs with their credit cards and instantly receive a link to a newly-created Avalanche wallet with their purchased NFT inside.

The CEO and co-founder of Venly, Tim Dierckxsens, cited that initially, his firm only provided NFT minting tools to artists and brands on Shopify. But, along the way, he noticed an increasing demand for an easy-to-use, no-code tool that any merchant could utilize to create NFTs.

Dierckxsens pitched the proposal to Shopify leadership, and his firm was later contracted to build an app for merchants of the e-commerce platform to facilitate streamlined NFT selling. According to the Venly CEO, the no-code app is one of the biggest evolutions for NFTs that needs mass adoption.

There Could be More Avalanche NFTs in 2023

Even though the trading volume on Avalanche is relatively low, the blockchain platform has recorded growing NFT adoption in 2022. In addition, the leading NFT marketplace, OpenSea, started supporting Avalanche NFTs three months ago. There has also been a significant growth of Web3 gaming on this blockchain.
