David Schwartz: My Sister Wants Her Money Back In BTC after Lending Me 2.8 BTC Some Years Ago

Ripple CTO, David Schwartz has recently come under fire after making an inconsiderate cancer joke about Bitcoin (BTC) billionaires.

This came about in a trending conversation started on Twitter by Kraken’s Bitcoin (BTC) evangelist, Pierre Rochard.

According to Rochard, whoever holds 10 BTC is literally a billionaire.  He wrote, “If you own 10 bitcoin you are literally a billionaire. Few understand this.”

The tweet was greeted with a lot of reactions from crypto big guns and enthusiasts, such as Ripple CTO David Schwartz, Galaxy Digital’s Michael Novogratz, and a host of others alike.

Insensitive Cancer Joke of Ripple CTO David Schwartz that Brought Under Fire

Ripple CTO, David Schwartz also joined the teeming commenters to share his view, but it’s seemingly a very insensitive one, judging by the views of others.

He wrote, “This tweet literally gave me cancer. Literally.”

The fact that he based his joke on a disease that kills and still killing millions across the world, brought him under fire.

A popular crypto community member, Tiffany Hayden, who is also an XRP enthusiast displayed her discontentment in David Schwartz’s choice of words.

She wrote, “I figuratively die as I hear you literally abuse words. But at least Pierre’s buying Bitcoin at 10 for a billion dollars. I almost waaay undersold.”

Pierre Rochard also said, “Please don’t joke about cancer. Thank you and be well.”

Michael Novogratz Opinion Regarding Pierre Rochard’s Assertion

Be reminded that the topic of discussion is that you only need to hold 10 BTC to become a billionaire. This indeed caught the attention of Galaxy Digital’s Michael Novogratz, who couldn’t understand the message the tweet was passing, until when Rochard clarified that one 1 BTC can be divided into 100 million satoshis.

In response, Novogratz claimed he holds a lot of Bitcoin (BTC), and he has a mission that aims at building a healthy ecosystem around the first and largest cryptocurrency.

“Wow. You guys are so literal. Was trying to be a little cheeky. I am a bitcoin believer. I own a lot. But more importantly I spend a huge amount of my time trying to do my part to build a healthy ecosystem. To me it’s what makes bitcoin work. You do well by doing good,” Michael Novogratz responded.
