Jared Tate’s Bids Farewell to DigiByte (DGB) and Cryptocurrency Community

The creator of DigiByte (DGB) Jared Tate has some hours ago shared his ordeal with a symptom related to the novel coronavirus.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 became serious beyond expectation, Jared Tate has been using his capacity to warn the people in his circle about the potency of the virus and the danger in taking the widespread for granted.

Howbeit, Tate’s recent experience is indicating a possible viral infection. He shared his ordeal in a series of tweets a couple of hours ago.

Jared Tate shared this, “I don’t normally share personal info but the last two days the left side of my face has been swollen & is getting bigger tonight. I first thought I had a abcess tooth yet I have no tooth or mouth pain. After multiple dentists told me to go to ER/Urgent care.”

Read the rest of his statement below:

I was told I had a salivary gland infection from dehydration/stress & possible blockage in ducts (something I have never had). Swelling is definitely around my salivary gland (parotid). After doing research these salivary infections are often caused by viruses ie mumps etc.

I then stumbled across this COVID19 paper coronavirus impact/dental industry. “COVID-19 was recently identified in saliva of infected patients” Paper says only 28% of patients had respiratory symptoms & concluded 3 possible ways to idenitfy infected.

1: Respitory symptoms, 2: Blood sample & 3: “Finally, another way for COVID19 to occur in the oral cavity is by major- and minor-salivary gland infection, w/ subsequent release of particles in saliva via salivary ducts.”

I have not been tested but being in a town w/ dozens of confirmed cases perhaps a saliva test could be an easier test? CDC “it provides a chance to determine if a non-invasive saliva diagnostic for COVID-19 could assist in detecting such viruses “

If anyone has had similar symptoms please let me know. I am self isolating & going to get tested as soon as I can figure out where/ how. I am sharing this anectodal info in hopes it’s useful if there are more ways to identify COVID19 outside of a cough and runny nose.
