Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) has recently shared his opinion regarding the level of understanding of people about blockchain, using their attitudes as a yardstick.
Vitalik Buterin shared this assertion with his teeming followers on Twitter a couple of hours ago, which later turned out to be a thread of tweets. The tweet looks like a troll directed at Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto, and like a message to the critics of the upcoming Ethereum 2.0.
In the tweet, he pointed out that those bragging about the number of “blockchain patents” their country, company, or organization possess, have no understanding about blockchains.
Vitalik Buterin shared this, “If you’re bragging about how many “blockchain patents” your country/company/organization has, you don’t understand blockchains.”

This tweet has since attracted tons of mixed reactions from crypto enthusiasts. Some are in support of his thought, while some others contradict his assertion.
A Crypto Community Member’s Odd Reaction to Vitalik Buterin’s Assertion
A crypto community member identified on Twitter as WhiteRabbit, who is likely not contented with Vitalik Buterin’s opinion responded thus:
“And if you keep saying you’re going to release a feature/product and make false promises (ETH will scale, PoS is better, 2.0 will fix everything, etc) you are a scammer.”
In response to WhiteRabbit’s reaction, Vitalik said trolls that thought Eth 2.0 will never happen are quietly admitting its reality after the launch of its testnet a couple of days ago. He thereby praised Prysmatic Labs for the great release.
“I like how the trolls are already starting to ever so quietly walk back from “2.0 will never happen”. Great work getting that testnet out.”

Another follower said, “I think people just forgot about ethereum entirely.”
Vitalik Buterin then questioned his assertion by captioning the chart of daily development within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Vitalik responded thus:
“By what metric? Development is up, prices are up, applications are getting better and better, and daily gas usage is nearing all-time highs.”
