FPT, a Vietnamese information technology company, and Nvidia will partner to develop a state-of-the-art $200M artificial intelligence firm poised to change the tech landscape in the area.
FPT, a Vietnamese information technology firm, and Nvidia, an international leader in the production of semiconductor chips, revealed plans to partner to fund and develop a $200M artificial intelligence (AI) factory in Vietnam.
On April 23, the two released a joint statement noting that their initiative seeks to develop a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all things cloud computing and artificial intelligence in the nation. Its targets comprise graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure, artificial intelligence products, domain knowledge for local clients, and tech specialists.
FPT to Fund AI Plant in Delivering Sovereign Cloud
FPT aims to finance the artificial intelligence plant, which will be a ‘sovereign cloud.’ On the other hand, Nvidia will supply the most recent technology, including artificial intelligence frameworks and enterprise software and Nvidia H100 Tensor Core graphics processing units.
The statement shows that FPT seeks to establish Vietnam as an ‘artificial intelligence center of the world’ and convert it into an artificial intelligence country while quickening the adoption of artificial intelligence apps in adjacent nations like Korea and Japan.
Keith Strier, the VP for Worldwide AI for Nvidia, noted that artificial intelligence can’ enhance lives and bolster all nations’ economies’ by quickening innovations in different fields, including agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and climate.
NVIDIA Offering Cloud GPU Services to FPT’s Clients
The plant will offer cloud GPU services to FPT’s corporate clients to enhance the speed and capabilities of artificial intelligence apps. Besides, it will provide end-to-end generative artificial intelligence services.
Nvidia’s programs will be included in the educational activities and programs, lab facilities at learning institutions, and training programs. According to the statement, at least 30,000 learners will be reached by the initiative.
In December last year, Nvidia’s chief executive officer revealed that the firm intended to improve partnerships in Vietnam to attract local talent in the artificial intelligence sector. Prior to that, in September, Vietnam and the US entered into agreements and partnerships to boost artificial intelligence-associated partnerships, concentrating on bolstering the semiconductor supply chain.
Heads of major tech firms working in the artificial intelligence space, such as Microsoft, Nvidia, and Google, attended the meeting.
