Using VeChain, 92,162 Kg of Plastic Recovered from Oceans and Rivers by ReSea in May

VeChain (VET), the leading enterprise blockchain platform, has gained the trust of another firm that is ready to leverage the functionality embedded in the VeChain Toolchain.

According to a recent VeChain Foundation’s blog post, a top United States Seafood firm, KnowSeafood, is partnering with the leading enterprise blockchain platform to boost the traceability of its seafood supply chain using VeChain’s distributed ledger technology (DLT) solutions.

Going by the blog post, Americans spend relatively $102 billion on seafood on a yearly basis. However, the majority of them don’t meet their daily seafood consumption recommendation, due to mislabeling of these products and lack of transparency of their supply chain.

Following this shortcoming, the Seafood firm based in the United States, KnowSeafood adopted VeChain ToolChain to enhance transparency in its seafood supply chain, boost trustworthiness and customer confidence.

In this regard, the firm implemented a supply chain transparency solution powered by VeChain ToolChain, named StoryBird.

According to the team, the application of StoryBird will enable customers to seamlessly track the entire supply chain cycle of their seafood.

Moreover, StoryBird will directly connect customers to seafood farmers via VeChain ToolChain, which is expected to boost transparency and the confidence of customers in the food products they purchase.

Starting from the fourth quarter of 2020, the firm will be able to track various categories of seafood on the platform. These include Peruvian Mahi-Mahi, North Atlantic Haddock, New England Sea Scallops, Maine Lobster, among others.

The American consumer is demanding the kind of transparency and provenance that DLT offers.
