The retail coffee giant, Starbucks, has moved into the Web3 industry after initially stating its plan last year. The coffee company is bringing Web3 dining to the industry by introducing Starbucks Odyssey.

Starbucks To Provide Users With Digital Experiences

Starbucks Odyssey is an initiative that would allow users to buy and earn digital assets. According to the coffee giant, the initiative will begin later this year.

Consequently, Starbucks chains across the US would be able to engage users using digital experiences. Also, they can grow their brands using Web3 initiatives and unlock various rewards for customers.

Meanwhile, the company will collaborate with blockchain firm, Polygon to launch the Starbucks Odyssey. The Odyssey will provide NFTs that customers can use to earn special experiences over conventional discounts and promotions.

Also, users can purchase the NFTs using credit. Therefore, they do not necessarily need a crypto wallet.

“Using Web3 technology will allow users to access ownership and experiences not available on traditional platforms. Starbucks Odyssey will go beyond the basic incentives that our Starbucks Rewards customers have come to expect, unlocking virtual, physical, and sensory bonuses that are distinctively Starbucks,” Starbucks stated.

Furthermore, the Starbucks NFT program is a part of the company’s rewards collection initiative. Therefore, coffee lovers can use login with their credentials to access the program.

Once customers have logged in, they can take part in the Odyssey’ journeys.’ This has several activities like interactive games and fun challenges.

Users Can Buy And Sell Digital Stamps

These activities are all geared towards helping users broaden their knowledge of the company and coffee. Mementos who partake in the game and complete the journey get rewarded with a digital collectible, the ‘journey stamp’ (NFT).

According to Starbucks, each digital stamp has a value that depends on its rarity. These stamps are secured on the Polygon blockchain to protect ownership. Also, users can buy and sell the stamps among themselves on the marketplace.

Meanwhile, this is Starbucks’ first program in the Web3 industry. Recently, the company entered the crypto industry, adding digital products and content to its services.

The aim is to increase the level of customer interaction and engagement with the company. The company designed the latest NFT reward program to allow users to broaden their knowledge about coffee.

Users can get to play interactive coffee-themed games and get to know more about coffee. Starbucks’ employees are part of the waitlist that would take part in the latest initiative.
