After announcing its Odyssey Loyalty initiative in September, Starbucks has released the reward program on Polygon. The coffee giant announced the news of the launch on December 9th encouraging users to take advantage of the opportunity.
Several companies have turned to Web3 technologies and NFTs to provide new experiences for their users. Also, such programs have allowed companies to build an interactive and exciting user community.
Starbucks, the US-based coffee giant, is one such firm. However, Starbucks’ Odyssey reward program is available to only a certain number of customers, the beta testers.
These customers registered on September 12th as part of the company’s waitlist. As a result, they would receive an invitation to participate in the program.
Furthermore, Starbucks noted that in 2023, members can buy “limited-edition NFT stamps.” Starbucks employees and external artists will take charge of designing the stamps.
The new project is expanding Starbucks’s current loyalty scheme, Starbucks Rewards. However, this new loyalty scheme uses Web3 technologies, such as the Polygon blockchain and NFTs, rather than traditional methods.
Furthermore, this latest program comprises coffee-themed digital collectibles. These digital assets will provide holders with real-world experiences.
At the beginning of 2022, the world’s largest coffee business stated that the Starbucks Odyssey program is user-centered. In addition, Starbucks said the program would allow its devoted consumers to access a broader category of incentives.
Starbucks’ Journey Stamps
Before now, Starbucks provided its users with free drinks to repay them for their loyalty. As a result, Odyssey decided to launch a new program where consumers may participate in interactive activities referred to as “Journeys.”
These Journeys, when finished, provide members with Journey Stamps. These Journey Stamps are NFTs designed to promote the coffee brand.
Additionally, it will teach customers more about the firm’s history and coffee. Finally, there are different activities for user engagement.
These activities include taking quizzes about coffee and the company, watching films, and solving puzzles. Also, users can visit Starbucks to test new beverages that the firm wants to sell.
The beverage testing is one activity that makes Starbucks stand out from other coffee brands. According to Starbucks, its Odyssey loyalty initiative is linked to its business goals and mobile payment option.
Meanwhile, this news comes after the coffee merchant unveiled the program in September. At the time, Starbucks said the initiative would allow users in the US to buy and sell NFTs.
Starbucks’ partners and external artists will produce the artwork for the NFTs. Also, users can buy the NFTs using their credit cards.
