Thus, making NFTs more popular and showing that there is more to blockchain technology than just cryptocurrencies. Hence, it is no surprise that some projects are starting to use NFTs to further the cause of their favorite projects, such as fund-raising for their NGOs.
The Mosque NFT Project
The Mosque NFT project is an Ethereum-built charity project whose aim is to mint 12K unique NFTs of the most famous mosques worldwide. The founders of this project must have chosen to mint on the Ethereum network because it remains hugely popular among NFT creators and is compatible with Metamask (a free wallet many people use to keep their valuable digital assets.).
Many creators are tapping into the growing popularity of NFTs and maximizing blockchain technology. NFTs have wide applications like digital currencies, and many creators are using them to create more awareness about their beliefs and ideologies, aside from using them to showcase their works. Through NFTs, people can support their favorite charity projects, raise funds and own unique and valuable virtual assets.
Building More Shariah-Compliant Mosques
Interested Ethereum users can own any of the 12K unique NFTs of the most famous mosques globally based on plans by the Mosque NFTs project founders. Also, the founders of this project intend to use these NFTs to emphasize the injustices Muslims still face from various authorities and citizens. The founders hope to use this project to enable people to live in harmony with one another regardless of their beliefs and support those suffering because of their religion.
However, a big takeaway from this project is that it proves that any person or group of persons can leverage blockchain technology to assist the needy. It is worthy of note that the shariah law doesn’t abhor blockchain technology (including cryptos and NFTs) so long as it is used for good causes, especially helping those in need.
Anyone willing to support the aims of the Mosque NFT project can do so by participating in their next auction scheduled to hold by this month-end. According to the announcement by the team behind this project, 1 ETH will be the floor price for the first set of these special NFTs.
The announcement explained that the chosen price was determined by feedback from the community and the project’s vision (building more shariah-compliant mosques and assisting the needy). The team also disclosed that 50% of these NFT sales would be donated to charities. More importantly, buyers of the NFTs can specify the charity they wish to support, which aligns with the primary aim of this project’s founders.
The Reward For The Project’s Community Members
According to the project founders, the minting process will be in six stages. For each step, participants who mint the highest number of NFTs will be eligible to win branded. Also, any creator who mints Islam’s central sanctuary (the Kaaba mosque) will be entitled to a half-a-million dollars prize from the team behind this project. But, this winner will receive the gift after the conclusion of the auction.
