On Friday, crypto derivatives exchange Bitget announced comedian and actor Adam Devine as the new face of the company for the next 12 months. Bitget is currently working on its rebranding strategy.
In an announcement video, the comedian asked the exchange’s users to go through reviews before purchasing anything, arguing that looks can sometimes be deceiving.
Devine will help Bitget push its #SetForChange campaign, which aims to onboard younger individuals to the crypto exchange. The company’s managing director Gracy Chen believes Devine is the right celebrity to fuel massive crypto adoption among the youth.
Meanwhile, Bitget says it’s working to integrate “smart tools” into its trading platform to make it as beginner-friendly as possible. The company has also hinted at adopting Artificial Intelligence technology.
More Celebrities Partner With Crypto Trading Platforms
Devine is not the only celebrity to partner with a crypto exchange. Actor Matt Damon collaborated with Crypto.com in 2021 to run a marketing campaign titled “Fortune Favors the Brave.” But the partnership did not bear the expected results. In fact, Crypto.com’s daily trading volumes plummeted by 90% within a year.
Damon recently appeared in an interview, where he defended himself, saying his ad was not to be blamed for the drop in Bitget’s trading volume. He also said the only reason he agreed to be part of the exchange’s marketing campaign was that he wanted to raise funds for his charity which focuses on providing clean water.
Bitget’s Achievements This Year
Bitget has made headlines for good reasons this year. In March, the company launched its Time and Space platform, a decentralized data warehouse aimed at bringing financial transparency to the crypto industry.
At the start of July, the crypto exchange began offering “dual-token” crypto loans, which let borrowers stake their tokens to collateralize loans that are denominated in a different currency. At the time of the launch, Chen said Bitget introduced crypto loans to serve users not pleased with the services of traditional banks.
Finally, as mentioned before, Bitget is rebranding. The company launched a new logo two weeks ago and unveiled a new tagline, ‘Trade Smarter.’
