Today, DeGods is the leading Solana-based NFT project by trading volume in SOL. However, the creators behind the project are planning to move DeGods to the Ethereum blockchain soon. The migration news grabbed the attention of a big NFT enthusiast.
On Tuesday, a Twitter user and an NFT trader named Pokeee splashed out about $1 million on 68 DeGods NFTs. Pokeee purchased the collection via the NFT marketplace, Magic Eden using a bulk buying feature that allows buyers to acquire their desired quantity of NFTs from a certain collection.
This feature is useful for degen traders who wish to buy several low-priced NFTs of a project with the hope that the particular project will be successful in the future. Additionally, only a few NFT marketplaces have this functionality.
Magic Eden Revises NFT Buy Limit Following Complaints
Until last Sunday, Magic Eden only allowed traders to purchase 50 NFTs using the bulk buying functionality at a time. However, when Pokeee complained to the marketplace that the buy limit was an ultimate inconvenience, Magic Eden upgraded the feature and increased the limit on Monday.
Prior to purchasing the 68 NFTs, Pokeee had promised to do so if he got 1,000 likes from his tweet in which he wrote that he would purchase several DeGods NFTs to show support for the project’s anticipated move to the Ethereum chain. Surprisingly, Pokeee’s tweet garnered over 2,800 likes.
Meanwhile, Pokeee claims he owns the famous Pokeee-eth Ethereum wallet holding valuable NFT collectibles, including three Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. Furthermore, Magic Eden shared screenshots of a text interview with the NFT trader where he revealed about running a private crypto fund.
DeGods Developer’s Recent Moves
As per CryptoSlam, DeGods NFTs have so far generated over $130 million in trading volume. Launched in 2021, the project has massively increased in value over time as its developer DeLabs continues making moves that benefit DeGods, including acquiring the rights to a team in the Big3 basketball league.
In December 2022, DeLabs revealed plans to bridge DeGods to Ethereum’s mainnet. In addition, Yoots, another DeLab’s Solana-based NFT project, will be bridged to the Ethereum sidechain, Polygon. The developer announced that Polygon Labs has already issued a $2.9 million grant to complete the move.
