OKX, a leading Web3 firm and the owner of the world’s second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume, tweeted on Thursday that it has entered into a partnership with stars from Manchester City Football Club.
The aim is to launch an immersive metaverse platform called OKX Collective. The platform promises to offer fans specifically designed immersive experiences.
Meanwhile, the football stars include Alex Greenwood, Ilkay Gündoğan, Rúben Dias, and Jack Grealish.
OKX Introduces OKX Collective
The OKX Collective is a distinctive virtual metaverse that allows fans to directly experience Web3 technology and obtain exclusive experiences, content, and benefits from some of their most beloved Manchester City stars.
Fans entering OKX Collective will enjoy unique experiences tailored to each player’s preferences and playing style. These exclusive offerings will comprise training materials, music, and NFT-powered digital experiences.
Meanwhile, Haider Rafique, OKX’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Bringing top football players to our newly created metaverse showcases the limitless potential of Web3. Also, it allows fans to experience it directly.”
Rafique opined that Web3 could surpass all prior technologies, and this is merely a preview of the amazing possibilities it holds. “Allow me to extend a warm welcome to Jack, Ruben, Ilkay, and Alex as they join the OKX community and the fantastic Web3 universe,” he added.
Jack Grealish commented on the recent Web3 partnership, saying OKX and Manchester City are winners. Grealish said that merging the metaverse and football will help fans get closer to the action on the soccer field.

Additionally, Grealish noted that he has enjoyed giving life to his digital profile with the help of OKX and the Club. Another Manchester player, Rúben Dias, said he was thrilled to partner with OKX.

After news of the recent partnership between OKX and Man City players, the Chiliz token witnessed a bullish trend, gaining 3.2% within a few hours. On the flip side, OKX has not unveiled a date to premiere its OKX Collective platform.
Meanwhile, the sports industry is gradually adopting NFTs and Web3 technologies. According to recent research by Grand View Research, the total market capitalization of the sport NFT market will be $211 billion by 2025.
