Last year was a tough time for the entire crypto community. However, Solana had a more challenging time compared to other blockchains. The network experienced several high-profile hacks and technical issues.

Also, the fall of Alameda Research and FTX, two giants with substantial financial investments in Solana, affected the network. However, Solana’s woes are not yet over, as several projects have left the network, the latest being Tiny Colony.

Tiny Colony Exits Solana

Solana hosts a robust NFT ecosystem with a rising gaming push. However, recent network glitches and a 94% price drop have forced NFT creators to seek greener pastures.

Tiny Colony, a Solana-based game, is the latest initiative to migrate from Solana. The company follows the likes of y00ts and DeGods, who migrated a few weeks ago.

Tinyverse Games, the developer of Tiny Colony, announced the migration news. According to the report, the game, which is still under development, will move to Immutable X, an Ethereum scaling network.

Arshia Navabi, the CEO of Tinyverse, said Immutable is a gaming-focused platform with game-focused technology and a strong development team. Tiny Colony is a game that tasks players with constructing and overseeing subterranean colonies of humanoid ants.

Players must strategically farm, breed and protect their Colony to ensure survival. Game players earn NFTs that can be utilized in-game or traded on various platforms.

Tinyverse released an early model of the game last summer on Solana for testers. However, the main version will be on Immutable X later this year.

Navabi revealed that the game will allow the present Solana NFT holders to swap their NFTs for an Immutable version through “burn-in mint.” He promised that more details would be out when they finalize the technical process.

Tiny Colony Did Not Move For Money

Meanwhile, Tiny Colony’s move comes a few weeks after DeLabs revealed that two major PFP projects, y00ts and DeGods, will migrate to other blockchains. Although details of the move are unclear, y00ts and DeGods will move to Polygon and Ethereum, respectively.

However, reports reveal that Polygon Labs gave y00ts a grant of $3 million to leave Solana. Reports alleged that Polygon Labs have tried convincing other Solana projects to join the Polygon network.

In December, Ryan Wyatt, the President of Polygon Labs, said the firm had contacted various projects on multiple blockchain networks. On the other hand, Navabi revealed that Immutable X did not give Tinyverse any funding to make a move.

However, once Tinyverse is live on Immutable X, Immutable will award the project IMX tokens based on its achievement of project milestones. Furthermore, he stated that the decision to relocate from Solana was not motivated by financial gain.

“Money was not the primary focus,” Navabi explained, “If it were, we would have moved to Polygon or other blockchain networks that offer substantial financial incentives to switch.”
