Nouns NFTs will appear in California’s 134th edition of the Rose Parade on January 2, following approval and funding by the community DAO. According to reports, the Nouns will showcase before the Rose Bowl football match between Utah and Penn State.

A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) is an online community with a shared purpose where membership is represented through token ownership. As for Nouns DAO, one becomes a member by owning an NFT.

According to Seth Green, the co-founder of Stoopid Buddy Studios, a firm that produces the TV series Robot Chicken, shared the idea with the Nouns community in May. The firm proposed to create a Nouns-themed float and five costumed characters for the Rose Paradise event.

Nouns is an Ethereum-based project that auctions off one NFT each day. The ETH gained is channeled into the community treasury, which currently holds about $32 million worth of ETH. Usually, the community DAO votes to fund project proposals that expand Nouns’ aim of creating open-source IP.

Nouns DAO Approved Funding for Several Projects in 2022

The DAO has funded various projects like the Nouns’ appearance in a Super Bowl commercial and an indie film called Calladita. According to Chris Waters, the Stoopid Buddy Head of Development, the Nouns community aims to popularize the meme. He believes that Rose Parade is the perfect fit for Nouns as it has a viewing audience of over 25 million every year.

Nouns DAO approved Stoopid Buddy studios’ budget of about 605 ETH for this project in June. At that time, the value of the funding was $1.2 million; however, it is currently about $721 million because of the depreciating value of ETH.

Waters revealed yesterday that Stoopid Buddy had completed creating the Nouns characters for Monday’s Rose Parade. Rather than recreating existing Nouns NFTs, Waters said that the Nouns set for the next week’s showcase include a 63-foot-long float covered in flowers to show off the positive and fun side of the Nouns.

Stoopid Buddy Continues to Explore the NFT Space in 2022

Alongside its TV series, Stoopid Buddy studios has its NFT collection called Stoopid Monkeys. In February 2022, its co-founder announced working on a TV series featuring his Bored Ape NFT and other NFTs engaging with human actors. However, he paused the production after his NFT got stolen.
