Opera Browser, a leading Web3 browser, recently announced the integration of its platform with extra safety features. According to the official statement, the new security tools filter out all suspected malicious tricks from bad actors and protect users.

In the wake of rampant NFTs and crypto funds theft, many metaverse service providers have upgraded their security protocols. Recently, Opera Crypto Browser announced that it had integrated new safety tools on its platform.

According to the announcement, the new security features would protect browser users from malicious activities and theft risks. In addition, the components would prevent and block suspicious decentralized websites, applications, and seed phrase phishing attacks.

Furthermore, it enables HTTPS, which ensures every user activity is securely encrypted to prevent attacks. According to the browser’s spokesperson, users can enjoy free and secure services while exploring Web3 benefits via its new Web3 Guard.

Additionally, the report revealed that the browser now has an in-built DApp Scanner that screens out suspicious code that can pose potential risks to users. Also, it has a Seed Phrase Phishing Checker that scans Web3 sites for possible phishing attacks.

A Senior Product Manager at Opera, Danny Yao, stated that most existing browsers could not efficiently contain the sophisticated nature of Web3. He added that the new security development on the platform is a massive step towards ensuring users are well protected in their interactions with the Web3 space.

Opera Protects Customers From Cyber Theft Rampage

Meanwhile, the Web3 industry has been facing a rapid increase in criminal activities. In 2022, according to reports, the crypto industry lost about $4.3 billion in assets to hackers and fraudsters.

Furthermore, crypto security experts estimate that about ten scams occur every hour in which investors lose their funds. A security expert firm, Solidus Labs, recently stated that about 12% of the Binance Chain Tokens, BEP-20, are fake.

The cybersecurity company added that scammers created 8% of the existing Ethereum-based tokens ERC-20 to steal users’ crypto assets. In addition, Solidus revealed that about 188,000 rug pull schemes were designed by malicious actors across 12 major crypto platforms.

Amidst all these insecurities, many Web3 service providers continually upgrade their security systems to ensure investors’ assets are secured. In alignment with the war against cyber thefts, Opera invented and integrated the announced layers of security protocols.

Previously, the top crypto browser launched an NFT project that enables users to browse Web3 seamlessly on its platform. In addition, Opera offered users a crypto wallet and support for several Web3 operations.

These gestures reportedly catapulted the browser to the spotlight, where it gained its fame as one of the top leading Web3 service providers.
